About Hai Duong City
Hai Duong is a province located in the Red River Delta, and situated in the key economic region of Northern Vietnam. The administrative center of Hai Duong city is located about 57km away from Hanoi capital to the west, 45km away from Haiphong city to the east. Hai Duong province borders with Bac Ninh province in the northwest, Bac Giang province in the north and Quang Ninh province in the northeast. Currently Hai Duong city is classified as first tier city (4 tiers in total, 1st tier is the highest) by the central government.
As per 2018, land area of Hai Duong province is 1656 sq.km with approximately 3.000.000 inhabitants, of which 70% are in working age. So far, there are nearly 3.400 enterprises from various industries established in Hai Duong province. Among them, there are 5 industrial zones and 5 industrial clusters in the province with total areas of over 1.000 hectare and more than 80,000 job employments. These industrial zones attract more than 200 projects including companies with large scale and advanced technology. Some of popular industries in Hai Duong include garment (e.g. Mascot, Crystal Group), leather shoes (e.g. Panta), electronics (e.g. Brother, UMC, Sumidenso), and automobile (e.g. Ford) etc. The long-established history of these companies is the proof of stable and welcoming investment environment in Hai Duong.
As per the advanced planning of Hai Duong for 2020 to 2030 period, the province will focus on developing 3 main industrial areas, which include Hai Duong city along high way no.5 corridor, Chi Linh area plus Kinh Mon area, and Thanh Mien area together with the provincial southern region. The goal would be to expand total number of industrial zones up to 25 and covering total area of 5400 hectare. In order to achieve this target, the provincial government would continue to invest and upgrade existing infrastructure system as roads, railways, waterways and wharves, so that Hai Duong can remain competitive in attracting new investment projects.
